Celebrating the stars of tomorrow…

A heartwarming day, as Sue Gullen with (left) Ace, and Ivy (right), winners of our Most Promising Youth Award 2024. The Award was donated to Southwick Players by Sue’s late father Peter Gullen. Sue was thrilled to be able to award it to these amazing two young stars.

Ace and Ivy will each take the award home for four months now it has been engraved with their names. The rest of the youth team took a break from rehearsing their play to admire the trophy and congratulate Ace and Ivy.

Southwick Players Youth (SPY) run weekly drama sessions on a Monday evening during school term time for 7- to 16-year-olds at Southwick Community Centre.

The SPY initiative is part of the Players’ commitment to community. Designed to increase confidence and hone stage craft for young performers, through drama games and by performing short plays, working from scripts but also developing improvisation skills.

Sessions are crafted to encourage confidence and to develop theatre skills through games and other drama-based activities.

As you can imagine, places are hugely popular, but we will be launching a waiting list in the future. Please sign up to our patrons mailing list for information about the Players as it happens.
