Casting Call – Pantomime ‘baddie’ needed for hair-raising adventure

Southwick Players is looking for an actress with a great voice to play the part of Gothel, the vain and wicked witch, in their pantomime Rapunzel.
Following successful auditions two weeks ago to secure a leading lady in the title role, the pantomime was fully cast but, due to unforeseen circumstances the part of Gothel is now up for grabs.
Directors Amy Bowyer and Amanda Reeves have again reached out to the acting community, this time to find a baddie with attitude to complete their team before rehearsals start on 3 September at The Barn Theatre, Southwick.
Amy said, “We are looking for an actress with a playing age of 30 – 60 years old with a great singing voice to take on this starring role.”
Auditions will be held next Wednesday 19 August so if you think you would like to ‘let down your hair’ and join the cast of Rapunzel the pantomime, then contact Amy and Amanda without delay. email: social@southwickplayers.org.uk

The plot

Rapunzel dreams of escaping the tower – the only home she has ever known.  But the vain and wicked witch Gothel, who stole the princess when she was a baby, keeps her captive in a tower to make beauty potions from her magical hair.
Add to the mix a large than life Dame who runs a hair salon, Bob the Barber, Fairy Stardust, comedy duo Drip and Dribble, an enchanted forest, Rascal the talking rabbit and a dashing Prince Leo, and you have all the makings of a great family show.
